Gypsie
ADOPTED 04/30/2022!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Gypsie and her family - Axel, Jackie, Genie, Sally, and Birdie - are victims of cruelty and neglect. All six dogs were living in horrific conditions. Chained in shower stalls, living in filth, abused, and starved, they endured unimaginable suffering at the hands of their owner. When word of their situation spread to local authorities, all 6 dogs were confiscated and charges were brought against their owner. Recognizing that these dogs would need significant support, a plea went out to see if they could be moved to the safety of a rescue. MAGSR answered that plea and immediately began working with local groups and animal services to get all six dogs the resources needed (medically and socially) to begin to move forward.
Gypsie is a young, energetic girl. She is looking for an active household that will provide her with the structure, routine, and leadership that all shepherds need. Although clearly emaciated and mishandled, Gypsie is ready to move forward. Coming from a situation with little opportunity for affection or interaction with the world around her, Gypsie is taking every opportunity to explore and enjoy life. As is true of all young dogs, Gypsie will need daily exercise for both her mind and her body. This will help her develop the ability to handle new people and situations in a calm and composed manner. Continued socialization is also critical for Gypsie as she has spent her first year with limited interactions. Providing Gypsie with opportunities to interact with other people and other animals in a controlled manner will help her develop essential skills that she has missed while chained up. Training will be an essential piece of this process, as it will not only help Gypsie learn to develop a healthy bond with her family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to be a good canine citizen.
We have discovered that Gypsie is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have easily been avoided with such a young dog had Gypsie been provided with monthly heartworm preventatives. Although treatment is very expensive, this active little girl is beyond worth the cost. Gypsie's entire heartworm treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Donations toward her care are greatly appreciated as this will help us not only help this little survivor get all of the care that she needs, but it will also help us continue to support medical dogs in need. Gypsie will need to take it easy over the next few months while she completes her treatment. However, this will give her time to learn about the ins and outs of living in a safe and loving home. If Gypsie sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today.
The GA 6 have been an expensive rescue, but so worth it. If you can help us donating to the cost of their care, it you be very much appreciated!
Ash
ADOPTED 04/26/2022!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 10
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet little Ash was picked up as a stray in the south. This cute little guy was brought to a crowded shelter where staff knew he would need a little extra TLC so that he could find a forever home that would love him for a lifetime. Recognizing that Ash should be transferred to a rescue, they reached out to MAGSR for help. We knew this little guy would be a great addition to the MAGSR family.
Ash is an absolute sweetheart but it is clear that he has lived through some difficult circumstances in his short life. As a result, he is definitely a shy guy. Often choosing the comfort and safety of his crate as a refuge while he adjusts, Ash is a quiet and somewhat timid guy. It will be critical that Ash's forever family work with him on socialization with people and other animals. This is essential for all young dogs as it helps them develop into confident and stable adults. Training will also be key for Ash as it will help him bond to his forever family as well as learn the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Ash is looking for a loving forever family that will give him the time, patience, structure, and love he needs to blossom. In return he will provide a lifetime of love and loyalty. If Ash sounds like the right match for your household, please ask to meet this little honey today.
Updates:Ash is doing well transitioning to his foster home. He enjoys following the other dogs and prefers their company over human companionship at this time. He really enjoys running and playing in the yard, resting with a Nylabone as well as the safety of his crate. Ash is very nervous and shy around people. He is not aggressive, and will go into his crate when feeling scared. He will need a calm and patient family to give him time, training and structure. He would love to have a playful canine sibling as a good role model. He would do best with older calm children As he is not aggressive but very scared about sudden actions and loud noises.
Onya
ADOPTED 04/22/2022!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Onya, previously known as Onion, was adopted by her mom a few years ago. They were an incredible team. With the help of her mom, Onya completed basic obedience, started scent work, and had the opportunity to develop more advanced skills. They brought endless joy into each other's lives with activities during the day and plenty of cuddles at night. It was beyond evident that these two were meant for each other. Everything was going according to plan and it seemed like they would bring joy to each other for many years. Unbeknownst to the pair, an unimaginable medical diagnosis was looming. Onya's mom received news of a terminal illness that would upend their perfect world. When she realized that Onya would need a safe place to land, Onya's mom contacted our team, shared her story with us, and asked for help. Our team did everything we could to bring comfort to this family and welcomed Onya back to MAGSR.
Onya is a stunning, intelligent, and impressive girl. However, her world has shifted dramatically with the loss of her mom. The grieving process is difficult and can shift personalities sometimes causing skills to go a bit backwards. Until she has fully settled, this sweet girl will likely be skittish and potentially a little over protective of her people. Stability and confidence building will definitely help. Fortunately, Onya is working through this process with the help of a loving foster family. When the right match steps forward, it is imperative that Onya is given time, patience, leadership, and structure in order to make one final adjustment. With routine and clear expectations, we know that this lovely lady will rise to the occasion. Although Onya is in the midst of the grieving process, she does know many of the ins and outs of living in a household. She is housebroken, crate trained, and understands general household routines. However, she will need time to adjust to the expectations of her forever family. Training will also help Onya adjust. Not only will training help Onya develop a strong and healthy bond with her family, but it will also help her continue to develop confidence. Onya is looking for a loving forever family that will provide her with endless adventures and daily snuggles. If this amazing girl sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today!
Daisy
ADOPTED 04/22/2022!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Daisy was beloved by her mom. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, her mom was unable to provide her with the lifestyle that she knew Daisy deserved. As a result, she made the decision to surrender her to MAGSR. Although this was a very difficult decision, Daisy's mom knew that MAGSR would find Daisy an incredible forever home that would love her for a lifetime.
Daisy is an impressive, affectionate, and interactive girl. It is highly apparent that her mom put a lot of work into making sure she would meet with success. Daisy is well socialized with people. She enjoys the company of people of all ages and has an absolute love of children. Affectionate with everyone, Daisy will quickly say hi with a few quick kisses and a good lean-in. Not only is Daisy people-friendly, she is also dog friendly. Age and temperament do not matter for Daisy, she simply wants to be friends with everyone. As Daisy moves forward, it is critical that her forever family will need to continue to support Daisy's socialization as this will help her further develop into a stable adult. Having already lived in a home, Daisy already understands many of the ins and outs of living in a household. She is crate trained and housebroken. Having already participated in training, she knows basic commands and heels well. However, as is true of all young dogs, she will benefit from continued training. This will not only help Daisy develop into a good canine citizen, but it will also help her bond to her new family. Daisy is looking for a forever family that will cherish her for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
Birdie
ADOPTED 04/15/2022!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Birdie and her family - Axel, Jackie, Genie, Sally, and Gypsie - are victims of cruelty and neglect.
Birdie is a lovely lady. As the matriarch of the family, she endured years of hardship and neglect. Although she spent years in unspeakable conditions, Birdie remains sweet and interactive with volunteers. Birdie seems curious about the world around her and is clearly read to move forward. She must know that she is safe and loved. Birdie is both affectionate and responsive. Having never had the opportunity to live in a home, she will thrive with structure, routine, and leadership. As is true of all dogs, Birdie will need daily exercise for both her mind and her body. This will help her develop the ability to handle new people and situations in a calm and composed manner. Exercise will also help Birdie move beyond the horrors of being chained in the same place for so many years. Continued socialization is also critical for Birdie as she has spent her first year with limited interactions. Providing Birdie with opportunities to interact with other people and other animals in a controlled manner will help her develop essential skills that she has been unable to develop prior to her arrival. Training will be an essential piece of this process, as it will not only help Birdie learn to develop a healthy bond with her family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Birdie is looking for a loving forever home where she can just be a dog. If this gorgeous girl sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today!
The GA 6 have been an expensive rescue, but so worth it. If you can help us donating to the cost of their care, it you be very much appreciated!
Lucas
ADOPTED 04/11/2022!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Lucas was picked up as a stray and brought to a shelter. This sweet and friendly guy, quickly won over the hearts of everyone on staff. They knew he must belong to someone. So, they waited for Lucas' family to claim him. Sadly, no one came for Lucas. Knowing that a special guy like Lucas deserved an amazing home, shelter staff reached out for rescue placement. When asked if we could help Lucas move forward, our team immediately put things in place to welcome him to the MAGSR family.
Lucas is a friendly, playful, and intelligent guy. Unsurprisingly, he does like to see what he can get away with when being handled. He has your typical GSD shenanigans going on. Although Lucas was a stray, he is interactive and affectionate. It is obvious that this guy was well socialized with people and dogs. As a young dog, Lucas will thrive with structure, clear routines, and leadership. He is beginning to learn basic manners and how to walk on leash without pulling. However, Lucas, like all dogs, will need training. Training will not only help him bond to his forever family but it will also help him develop into the good canine citizen we know he is destined to become. Lucas is looking for a family that enjoys an interactive dog, playtime, and lots, we mean lots, of belly rubs. If this boy sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet Lucas today.
Guy & Fieri
ADOPTED 04/08/2022!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Guy and Fieri were picked up as strays in the south. When they arrived at animal services it was highly evident that they could use a little extra TLC. Underweight, dirty, and needing some medical support, shelter staff immediately moved forward to support both boys. Although the boys had clearly been through a lot together, everyone was simply amazed by how friendly and interactive Guy and Fieri are with everyone they meet. Although shelter staff did everything they could to help both boys move forward, they felt that it would be best if the boys were moved into rescue so that they could find a home with room for two. When asked if we could support Guy and Fieri in the MAGSR family, we immediately stepped forward.
Guy and Fieri are a bonded pair. As a result, they are looking for a household that has room in their hearts and home for two dogs. Playful, interactive, and friendly with everyone, the boys bring smiles wherever they go. It is clear that these two know just how to win over the hearts and minds of everyone around. Both boys are good with other dogs. They also love people of all ages. Guy has had some additional medical needs having joined the rescue with a very intense yeast infection throughout his body. However, with time, attention, and the right medication, he has made significant strides. These guys are looking for a household that will provide them with structure, routine, and love. If your family has room for two, please ask about Guy and Fieri today!
Updates:Guy and Fieri were adopted into a loving household two years ago. They had easily won the heart of their foster family and it was decided that they were officially home. Although the boys loved their family, unfortunately, due to a significant change in circumstances, Guy and Fieri had to be returned to MAGSR's care. We have had a long tradition of caring for our own. Once a MAGSR dog, always a MAGSR dog. When we learned that the boys needed to move back to us, our team immediately stepped forward.
Unsurprisingly, the boys moved right back in just as sweet and social as they were when they were adopted. Clearly comfortable with varied people and in varied environments, the boys have adapted surprisingly well to their change in circumstance. Big fans of daily playtime and activities, Guy and Fieri keep everyone smiling with their playful antics and goofy personalities. It is highly evident that this is a special pair. Having lived in a home for a few years, the boys understand the ins and outs of living in a household. They are housebroken and crate trained. Although they understand the general expectations of living in a home, it is important that their new family recognize that it will take them time to adjust to the routines and expectations of their new home. As they move forward, training will be key to the boys' success. Training will not only help Guy and Fieri create a healthy bond with their forever family, but it will also help them develop the skills needed to become good canine citizens. Curious and playful, the boys enjoy daily time outside. They love walks, sunshine, and nature. However, they can get a bit too excited about some of the four legged visitors in their yard, particularly the deer. Training will help the boys learn that furry visitors are fun but not necessarily playmates.
Guy and Fieri are a very special pair. They are looking for a household that has enough room in their hearts for two. If these boys sound like the right match for your family, ask to meet them today!
Rocky
ADOPTED 04/05/2022!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Rocky's family surrendered him to another rescue as they felt they could not provide him with the care that he needed. Although this was a very difficult decision, they wanted to give Rocky every opportunity to live his best life. The rescue that welcomed Rocky in recognized that he would have his best chance if he was transferred to a breed specific rescue. As a result, he was moved into the MAGSR family. We are so excited that we can help Rocky move forward.
Rocky is a big, energetic guy. He is intelligent and confident as well. Although he did not live with other dogs in his original household, his foster family did have several larger dogs. Rocky did well with the other dogs in the home; however, his foster did indicate that he would correct other dogs from time to time. True to the breed, Rocky is protective of the property, particularly, when it comes to other animals. He will need to learn to look to the handler for direction. Training will go a long way with Rocky. It will not only help him develop a healthy bond with his family but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Rocky has already lived in a household, so he knows some of the ins and outs of living in a home. However, as is true of any dog, he will likely need to brush up on those skills and adjust to the structure and routines of his forever home.
Unfortunately, Rocky has come up heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if he had been provided with heartworm preventatives. Rocky's treatment has already begun. Treatment is expensive; however, MAGSR knows that he is more than worth the cost. Rocky will need to take it easy over the next couple of months while he undergoes treatment. This will involve rest and crate restriction. However, Rocky will be back to himself soon. Please consider donating to Rocky's care. Your support will not only help us care for this big guy, but it will also help us welcome other medical dogs into the rescue. If Rocky sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet him today.
Zinnia
ADOPTED 04/01/2022!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Zinnia "the survivor" as we call her battled and rallied a rough case of parvo as a puppy. Upon getting the all clear from her vet, Zinnia made her way to the rescue and was quickly adopted out. Zinnia lived in a household and did well with everyone including the kids and another dog. Sadly, Zinnia's family could no longer care for her so MAGSR welcomed Zinnia back into rescue with open arms. Zinnia is just over a year old now and looking for her forever home. Zinnia would thrive in a home with another dog and she enjoys children. Zinnia is shy and nervous upon first meeting new people and in new situations but with a little patience and love she opens right up. Zinnia will thrive in a household where patience, structure, guidance and leadership are provided constantly. Training will go a long way with Zinnia as she is a smart girl. Not only will this help her to bond to her new family, but it will also help her develop into a stable and confident canine citizen. If the lovely Zinnia sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today.
Frannie
ADOPTED 03/31/2022!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Joyful Frannie and her siblings - Henry and Miles - were an accidental litter. Although the family that they were born into raised them in a loving home, they recognized that they could not afford three additional pups. Knowing that these babies deserved safe and loving forever homes, the difficult decision was made to surrender all three babies to rescue. We promised to find these babies amazing forever homes.
Frannie, Henry, and Miles are absolute love bugs. They are social, interactive, and endless fun. It is highly evident that these babies have been socialized well. Although they have an excellent start, it is critical that their forever families continue to provide them with opportunities to socialize with new people and animals in varied environments. These babies are darlings; however, it is important to remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their families. Puppies are full of puppy energy which results in endless puppy antics. They will get into things, whine, and will chew on inappropriate items. With time, training, patience, and continued socialization, Frannie, Henry, and Miles will develop into good canine citizens. These babies are looking for forever homes that will commit to them for a lifetime. Could that family be you?
Dutchess
ADOPTED 03/27/2022!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely, little Dutchess was found running around an abandoned farm with another dog. Recognizing that these dogs would need help, a team of rescuers came together to trap both dogs and move them to safety. When the dogs were successfully contained, rescuers came together to enact the next piece of their plan. Both dogs were seen by a vet, given a safe and comfortable place to stay, and waited to see if someone came to claim them. Unfortunately, no one came forward to claim them. Recognizing that both dogs would be best placed in breed specific rescues, Dutchess moved forward into the MAGSR family.
Dutchess is a loveable, playful, intelligent girl. We are so excited to help her move forward. A definite fan of other dogs, Dutchess is under the impression that all other dogs should be her furry friends. Clearly, this girl was well socialized with other animals. Although really good with other animals, Dutchess does need a small pause when meeting new people. Given a chance to adjust, she is interactive and friendly. Dutchess, like all other young shepherds, will thrive with structure, routine, and leadership. As a young dog, she will need to exercise both her body and her mind on a daily basis. Training will also be key to Dutchess' transition in her forever family. Training will not only help her form a strong and healthy bond with her family but it will also help her develop into a stable and confident adult. Dutchess is looking for an active family that will commit to her for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
Pharah
ADOPTED 03/26/2022!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Pharah is a lovely, sweet, and intelligent young girl. A couple of false starts in her life have left her a bit timid and in need of a patient and kind hand to help her move forward. Prior to her arrival in the MAGSR family, Pharah found herself caught in the middle of some difficult situations where she was acting as the family protector. As she moves forward, Pharah is looking for a family that will provide her with a safe and loving household, where she can simply be a happy dog. As is true of all GSDs, Pharah will thrive in a household with structure, leadership, and clear boundaries. Although a little timid in new environments and with new people, once given time to adjust, Pharah is interactive and affectionate. Food motivated and eager to please, Pharah will be the star pupil in training class. Training with Pharah will be a rewarding experience for the entire family as it will help her establish a healthy bond with her family while building trust and confidence. As Pharah is still rather young, she, like any GSD, requires a notable amount of physical and mental stimulus. She would love a family that can help her stimulate both her body and her mind on a daily basis. As a healthy and active girl, Pharah may also enjoy doggy sporting opportunities, such as agility work. If this beautiful girl sounds like a match for your household, ask to meet her today!
Houston
ADOPTED 03/26/2022!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 12
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Houston was picked up as a stray in a busy city. He was brought to a local shelter, where staff members immediately fell in love with this sweetheart. Although Houston quickly won over the hearts and minds of the shelter staff, they knew that he needed more care than they could provide. In order to find Houston the help he needed, a rescue plea went out. MAGSR knew Houston deserved a family to call his own so we stepped in to help him.
Houston is a stable, confident and friendly guy. Although we do not know what Houston's life was like prior to his arrival at the shelter, at some point he did know love. Known to shower his handlers with affection, Houston does tend to give wiggles and kisses when first meeting new people. He's simply a lovable guy. When Houston arrived at the shelter it was highly evident that something was wrong with his front right leg. He was non weight bearing as the lower portion of his leg was hanging from the carpal area. Upon closer inspection, it was determined that Houston has a right distal radial ulna fracture. This will need to be repaired by one of our surgical specialists. Unfortunately, Houston will need to wait a few weeks as he is also suffering from a rather serious upper respiratory infection. Although he is getting the additional attention and support he needs to recover, he will need time to heal before surgery.
In addition to Houston's other medical needs, we have learned that he is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if he had been given monthly heartworm preventatives. Houston's heartworm treatment has begun. Although treatment is expensive, this sweet boy is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating to Houston's medical needs. Your generosity will help us care for Houston as well as other dogs who need medical support. Houston will need some extra support over the next few months. However, with time, patience, and an amazing medical team, he will be ready for his forever home soon.
Updates:Handsome Houston has been living with his foster family since the beginning of November. Due to the extent of his injuries, he has been on full crate rest since he arrived. This is essential as the bones in Houston's leg need time to heal properly. Too much pressure or activity could cause the plate in his leg to fail. Although crate restriction is not likely Houston's favorite activity, he has remained a joyful and affectionate guy throughout the past few months. With weekly vet visits to change his cast, monitor progress, and keep his skin healthy, Houston has gotten to know the staff at Paradise Animal Hospital very well. He greets them with tail wags and kisses on every visit. As sedation is needed with every visit while changing out his cast, Houston has consistently woken up from sedation with a happy, thumping tail. With some luck, Houston will hopefully be able to say goodbye to his cast forever at the end of January and begin physical therapy in February.
As Houston's skin infections have cleared up and his healing is progressing, he is now ready to start his heartworm injections. These will begin in early January. We are excited that Houston will be able to start this next step in his heartworm treatment on time as it has taken a couple of months to get his health back up to a point where we felt comfortable moving forward. Since Houston is already on strict crate rest and is crate trained, this next piece of his healing process should be very familiar to him. With so many medical needs upon arrival, Houston has been very patient with us as we handle one medical hurdle at a time. We cannot wait for the day that Houston is cast, cone, and crate free to run and play. Please consider contributing to Houston's medical needs. This happy, energetic, and inquisitive guy is just a few more months away from being ready for a forever family.

Sash
ADOPTED 03/13/2022!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely Sash was adored by her family. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond their control, they could no longer continue to care for her. Recognizing that Sash deserved a family that could love her and keep her safe, they made the difficult decision to surrender her to MAGSR. We promised Sash's family that we would find Sash an amazing forever family.
Sash is a sweet girl. She is friendly and affectionate with people of all ages. Playful and a little goofy, Sash brings joy to those around her. Having lived in a household, Sash is familiar with the rules of living in a home. She is both house broken and crate trained. Although she will need to learn the new routines of her family, Sasha is ready to move forward. Having completed some training with her previous family, Sash knows many of her commands already. However, as is true of any new pup, Sash will benefit from additional training. This will help her not only develop into a stable and confident canine citizen, but it will also help her bond with her new family. If Sash sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet this delightful girl today.
Updates:We have been fostering Sash for about 6 weeks now. She is a beautiful long-haired, floppy-eared girl. People often tell us how gorgeous she is. She bonded to our family very quickly. Sash is very affectionate and loves to snuggle. She is very gentle with our 6 year old son. Sash can be protective (of all of us) when other dogs get close, especially if we give those dogs attention. Due to this jealousy, she would do best as an only pet. Sash did not have much experience walking on a leash when we got her, but now she is generally very good, but will occasionally pull (and she is very strong). She loves to chew on bones and play with balls. Sash is extremely smart and food and treat motivated, which should make training fairly easy. Due to a skin condition, Sash requires regular baths with medicated shampoo. MAGSR has covered her veterinary care and her skin has vastly improved with us dutifully following her course of treatment. If you have room in your home and in your heart, ask to meet Sash today.
Pixel
ADOPTED 03/11/2022!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Wiggly little Pixel was picked up all alone in a busy city. When animal control officers brought this little cutie into a shelter, staff members immediately fell in love with this little guy. Sweet and so very loveable, staff members recognized that this boy deserved a loving forever home but would likely be most successful if placed through a rescue. When asked if we could welcome Pixel into the MAGSR family, we immediately stepped forward.
Pixel is an absolute love. He has clearly learned the joy of toys and wiggles every time he sees them. Pixel is particularly thrilled to play ball and is hoping his forever family likes to play ball too. Although Pixel is joy in a little package, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy energy which results in endless puppy antics. They will get into things, whine, and will chew on inappropriate items. With time, training, patience, and socialization, Pixel will develop into the good canine citizen we know he is destined to become. Pixel is looking for a forever home that will commit to him for a lifetime. Could that family be you?
Sissy
ADOPTED 03/07/2022!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Sissy is a survivor. She was picked up as a stray in the south with an embedded collar, missing fur, and highly emaciated. Animal control officers quickly recognized that Sissy had endured a significant amount of pain and suffering. However, despite all that she had experienced, Sissy remains a sweet girl. Officers worked hard to begin to help Sissy move forward while also looking for rescue placement for this girl. When MAGSR heard about Sissy's story, we immediately welcomed her to the family.
Sissy is beautiful, intelligent girl. Due to her history, she is unsure when placed in new environments and with new people. Sissy needs time to adjust to new situations. With time, patience, and routine, Sissy will warm up to her people. However, she will meet with most success with a stable and confident household. Still learning that people can be kind and caring, it is important that her forever family recognize that a go slow approach is necessary as Sissy moves forward. Training and continued socialization are imperative as Sissy moves forward. Not only will training help Sissy bond to her new family but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. If Sissy sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet this sweetheart today.
Jojo & Chloe
ADOPTED 03/07/2022!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Jojo and Chloe were confiscated due to neglect. When they arrived at a shelter emaciated and unclean, shelter staff immediately started working to make these two sweethearts comfortable. Although steps were taken to help Jojo and Chloe begin to decompress in safety, staff knew that the shelter environment was not the right place to help this pair move forward. In order to help them find the comfort and safety they deserved, a rescue plea was issued. As soon as we heard about Jojo and Chloe, our team began putting together plans to help this amazing pair move forward.
Although these lovely survivors have endured hardship and neglect, Jojo and Chloe are an amazing pair. Jojo is the more confident of the two. He is sweet, interactive and simply wants love. Chloe is a little more timid than Jojo. Her lovely personality comes out with a little time. Both pups have deep, warm eyes that simply pull at your soul. Since joining the MAGSR family, Jojo and Chloe have already begun to get the care and love that they deserve. They have seen our vet and are beginning to move forward.
The information above applies to Jojo, the only diffences being that Chloe is a bit smaller at 50 lbs and younger at about 7 years of age.
They have also been placed in a loving foster family that is showing them the joys of living in a safe, warm, and comfortable home where all of their needs are met. Although we are still getting to know Jojo and Chloe, we do know that these two deserve a special forever family that has room in their hearts for two. If your family is looking for a gentle and loving pair of dogs, please ask to meet Jojo and Chloe today!
Andrew
ADOPTED 03/07/2022!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Andrew was picked up as a stray and brought to a shelter. Although he waited for a family to come and claim him, no one stepped forward. Shelter staff loved Andrew's playful personality; however, as the shelter was overcapacity, they began reaching out to rescues for help. When MAGSR heard about Andrew, we knew he would be a great addition to the MAGSR family.
Andrew is in many ways your typical, young, energetic shepherd. He is curious about the world and is learning about the joys of toys. Although we do not know anything about Andrew's past, it is clear that he is ready to move forward with his future. As is true of all young shepherds, Andrew will be most successful in a household with structure, routine, and consistent leadership. This will not only help him adjust to his new household, but it will also help him develop an understanding of the expectations of living in a home. In addition, Andrew will benefit greatly from training; training will help him develop the skills and strategies he needs to develop into a good canine citizen.
Unfortunately, we have learned that Andrew is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if he had been given monthly heartworm preventatives. Andrew's heartworm treatment has begun. Although treatment is expensive, this handsome guy is definitely worth the cost. Please consider donating to Andrew's care. Your generosity will help us not only support Andrew throughout his heartworm treatment, but it will also help us support other dogs with medical needs. Although Andrew will need to take it slow over the next few months while he undergoes treatment, this will give him time to adjust to his new environment. Andrew is looking for a forever family that will commit to him for a lifetime. Could that family be you?
Miles
ADOPTED 03/07/2022!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Magnificent Miles and his siblings - Frannie and Henry - were an accidental litter. Although the family that they were born into raised them in a loving home, they recognized that they could not afford three additional pups. Knowing that these babies deserved safe and loving forever homes, the difficult decision was made to surrender all three babies to rescue. We promised to find these babies amazing forever homes.
Miles, Frannie, and Henry are absolute love bugs.
Anna
ADOPTED 03/07/2022!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Anna and her siblings, Jodie and Teddy Bear, were brought to a shelter when their owner passed away. Unfortunately, it was apparent that their owner had been struggling to care for these dogs for a while. Fearful and avoidant in the shelter environment, this little family needed out and fast. Knowing we could provide this family with the life and love they deserve, MAGSR welcomed them to the family.
Anna is a sweet little lady but she is extremely timid. Somewhat hand-shy and avoidant, Anna does well with a patient but confident handler who will give her time to trust. Once comfortable and with time to decompress, she will warm up for love and attention. Due to the condition in which she arrived, Anna has needed a little extra TLC. She arrived sick with an URI, severe ear infection, and dirty from lack of care. Fortunately, our amazing vetting partners were able to help Anna get the relief she needed. We are continuing to work with them to make sure that Anna has everything she needs as she moves forward. With time, patience, and a little support, Anna is making steady progress. Anna will thrive in a household that will provide structure, routine, and patience. Due to her history, she will likely benefit from a calm and confident household.
Unfortunately, we have discovered that Anna is heartworm positive. This condition could have been avoided had she been provided monthly heartworm preventatives. We have already begun Anna's treatment. The cost of her entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Treatment is expensive, but this lovely girl is beyond worth the cost. Please consider donating toward Jodie's treatment. Your generosity will help us save her and other dogs with medical needs. Although Anna will need to take it slow over the next few months while she undergoes treatment, this will give her time to adjust to her new environment and meet with success in her forever home. Anna is looking for a forever family that will provide her with the structure, patience, and love that she so clearly deserves. Could this be with you?
Updates:Ms. Anna is a special girl. She is very sweet but very shy, and she generally prefers dogs to people – so she’s pretty smart! She’s been in her foster home for a few months getting over her heartworm, and she has come a very long way from the distant, tail-tucked, and fearful girl that first arrived with us. She’s needed the time to get comfortable with her human foster, while in the interim she relied on her foster sister, to whom she bonded almost instantly. Anna has a different way of communicating with people than folks expect from a dog. Her positive signals can be subtle and easy to miss or misinterpret, and she prefers the familiar, routine, and relies on the confidence of her “big sister,” to be comfortable and happy. She is a lovely animal, and it is a pleasure to see her relax and enjoy her life, and she is ready to move on. But Anna is not for everybody. Anna will need a sensitive and patient person, who ideally has a sweet confident dog, that can give Anna the space and time she’ll need to build the human bond. It will be easier for her going forward, now that she’s learned to trust someone. But her new family will need to love Anna on her terms. Please reach out if you feel you can give Anna the special love she needs.
Aveza
ADOPTED 03/02/2022!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Cute, little Aveza was picked up as a stray and brought to a shelter. Once in their care, shelter staff learned that this lovely little girl had been passed around quite a bit in her short life. This can be very difficult for any dog, particularly, a shepherd, as they thrive with structure, leadership, and routine. Recognizing that Aveza would be most successful if placed within a rescue where she could find an experienced household that will help her meet with success. When asked to welcome Aveza to the MAGSR, we immediately welcomed her to the family.
Aveza is germanic for "desired". This incredible girl's story has touched the hearts of many people. She is truly desired. However, young shepherds, who have not had consistency are best placed in committed families that are experienced with the breed. Aveza is a smart, energetic, and intelligent girl. She will need an active family that can exercise both her body and her mind on a daily basis. She will thrive in an environment with clear boundaries and routines. It is critical that Aveza's family continue to provide structured opportunities for socialization. This is important as Aveza develops a healthy response to people, animals, and activities within her environment. Training is essential as it will not only help Aveza bond with her new family but it will also help her develop into the stable and confident adult that we know she is destined to become. If your family is ready to provide Aveza with the safety, love, and consistency that she deserves, ask to meet this lovely girl today.
Fred
ADOPTED 03/01/2022!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Fred was confiscated due to cruelty and neglect. Due to court proceedings, this good looking guy waited for several months at a local shelter waiting for his chance at finding a family that would love and care for him for a lifetime. Once given the green light to move forward, shelter staff felt that Fred would have his best chance at finding his forever home through a rescue. When asked if we could help Fred find the perfect forever family, we immediately stepped forward.
Fred is a very handsome guy who was clearly not cared for early in life. Undersocialized with people, he will require time and patience to adjust to new people and situations. Fred prefers a calm, slow handler at first as he gets his bearings. However, given time, structure, and leadership, he does begin to open up. As a young dog, Fred will thrive with routine. He will benefit greatly from training as this will not only help him bond to his forever family, but it will also help him develop the stability and confidence that all dogs need. Fred is looking for a forever home that will provide him with the love and safety he so clearly deserves. If your household sounds like the right match for Fred, ask to meet this boy today.
Toby
ADOPTED 02/28/2022!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Cutie little Toby did not have an easy start in life. He was mistreated by his owner and then abandoned in the south. Fortunately, another rescue heard about Toby's plight and started putting plans in place to help him. Although they were able to start moving him forward, unfortunately, Toby was not able to move into the safety of a rescue before he was attacked by another dog. Medical support was secured quickly and Toby was moved into MAGSR's care.
For such a young guy, Toby has endured a lot of trauma. He is still learning that there are kind people in the world who will treat him the way he should have been treated since the beginning. Recognizing that Toby needed and deserved additional support in order to develop the confidence and stability that he needs to move forward, Toby is working with one of our trainers in a board and train program.
Toby has been with the trainer for a few weeks and he is doing amazing. They quickly learned he has an incredible ability for tracking or nose work. He would be a phenomenal working dog or competition sport nose work dog. He is currently learning to be off leash and they are continuing to explore his tracking abilities. Toby would do best with an active family that would enjoy putting his talents to work whether for sport or competition. He will thrive with continued training and structure as he is a medium to high energy boy! If he sounds like the pup for you please put your application in!
Adonis
ADOPTED 02/28/2022!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Adonis was picked up as a stray in the south. When his microchip was run it became clear that Adonis had a bit of a history. He had been abandoned, adopted, and abandoned a second time. However, even with all of the upheaval in his life, Adonis remains a friendly and interactive guy. When no one came to claim Adonis, several rescue groups came together to help this guy move forward. We learned about Adonis' need for rescue placement and knew that he would be an excellent addition to the MAGSR family.
Adonis is a big, handsome, interactive guy. He does well with new people and portrays a stable and confident persona. Not only is Adonis a fan of people but he also enjoys the company of other dogs. Although we know that Adonis has previously lived in a home, we do not have any additional information about his experiences living in a household. Adonis is looking for a stable, confident and structured home. As is true of all shepherds, Adonis will benefit greatly from training. Not only will this help him bond with his forever family but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. This incredible good is looking for a family that will commit to him for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
Diamond
ADOPTED 02/28/2022!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Precious Diamond was surrendered to a local shelter when her family could no longer care for her. Although they loved Diamond, they felt that she deserved a family that could give her the comfort, safety, and routine that all GSDs crave. This was a very difficult decision. However, Diamond's family felt this was in her best interest. Although Diamond was unsure at the shelter and needed a little time to warm up to new people, shelter staff could tell that this girl was special. Recognizing that shepherds struggle in shelters, staff members reached out to MAGSR to see if we could help Diamond move forward. Really, who could say no to this girl?
Diamond is a lovely girl. Not yet a year old, Diamond is in many ways your typical, young shepherd. She is energetic, intelligent, and curious about her environment. However, as is true of many dogs, she can be a little hesitant with new people and new situations. High-value treats go a long way with Diamond. It is essential that Diamond's forever family continues to build her confidence and socialize her. This will help Diamond develop into a stable adult shepherd. As a long-haired shepherd, she has a lovely coat but will need a family to keep her brushed in order to avoid mats. Diamond was groomed upon arrival to the MAGSR family. She did very well with her bath and seems to enjoy a little love and attention. We are still getting to know this special girl and will post updates as we learn more. If this lovely girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today.
Zara
ADOPTED 02/28/2022!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely Zara was trapped locally and brought to a shelter. Recognizing that this girl may have a family looking for her, shelter staff listed on their stray hold. Although Zara waited patiently for her family to claim her, no one arrived to take her home. As Zara decompressed it in the shelter, it became clear to shelter staff that she had not received the care or socialization that all dogs need. It is critical that Zara is given time to adjust to new people and situations. Although shelter staff worked hard to help Zara begin to move forward, they knew that she would be most successful if placed with a breed specific rescue. When we got the call to help Zara move forward, we immediately welcomed her to the MAGSR family.
As Ms. Zara has begun to settle into her foster home, we are beginning to learn about her strengths and needs. We have learned that with patience and kindness this lovely girl warms up quickly. Due to her history and clear lack of experience, we feel that Zara would be best suited for a quiet household that will provide Zara with the time, patience, and leadership she needs to move forward. Training is an essential aspect of the recovery process, particularly, with a fearful dog. Training will provide a confidence building activity and a socialization opportunity which will help Zara gain stability and trust. Although her humans have failed Zara in the past, she is ready to move forward with a family that will provide her with the love and safety she deserves. Is your family the right match for her?
Jed
ADOPTED 02/22/2022!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Jed's family loved him dearly and made the difficult decision to return him to MAGSR as they felt they could no longer give him the structure and time he needed to live his best life. Although this was a difficult decision, Jed's family knew he deserved every opportunity to find a new family who would love him and could dedicate the time and energy needed to properly care for him. We promised them that we would make sure that Jed found the perfect home.
Jed recently transitioned into his foster home and we are still learning about him. As a result, Jed is still acclimating to his surroundings and does seem to feel most content in a well lit open space; however, he has slept in an impact crate with the door open all night. He is curious but cautious of new things. Due to some anxiety, Jed will pace incessantly until he is comfortable or tired. He seems to enjoy the company of dogs but their interactions. At this time those interactions have been limited and he can be a little intrusive. Jed is in many ways just a giant puppy in his mannerism. He will thrice in a household with a family that is dedicated to him and willing to work through his insecurities and anxieties. As a treat motivated guy, Jed has quickly discovered the importance of looking to his handler for guidance and direction. This will make training with him easier. As is true of all dogs, training is essential as it will not only help Jed adjust to his new household but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. If Jed sounds like the right match for your household, please ask to meet him today.
Bacchus
ADOPTED 02/19/2022!
Good With Kids: Older Kids Only
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Happy-go-lucky Bacchus was picked up as a stray. Recognizing that this young guy simply needed a chance to move forward, another rescue provided him with a safe place to stay while they searched for an opening with a breed specific rescue in another region. When we heard that Bacchus needed support to move forward, MAGSR stepped in and welcomed this guy to the rescue.
Bacchus is in many ways your typical young shepherd. He is energetic, bouncy, playful, and talkative. He enjoys the company of other people and other dogs. Although Bacchus has met children and has done very well with them, he would be best suited for older children as he has yet to learn that hugs are not always necessary. While waiting to move into the MAGSR family, Bacchus regularly participated in playgroups with other large dogs. He definitely enjoyed his daily playtime and will need a household that can appropriately help him expend his energy on a daily basis. As is true of all shepherds, Bacchus will thrive in a household that will provide structure, routine, and leadership. Young shepherds require clear boundaries and expectations if they are going to become stable adults. Bacchus will benefit greatly from training. Training will not only help him bond to his forever family, but it will also help Bacchus develop into a good canine citizen. If this attractive guy sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet him today.

Theo was a stray who found his way to a shelter where it was very clear that he needed immediate medical attention. A portion of Theo's tail had been degloved and he required significant medical support. Recognizing that Theo's condition would require surgical intervention, the shelter staff worked with local groups to get Theo the help he needed. In order to help Theo survive, a portion of his tail was amputated. With his medical needs addressed, Theo is ready to move forward and begin his journey with a new family. Theo is a big, ball-driven boy. He is good with other dogs but prefers proper introductions.Theo will meet with success in a household where he has structure and leadership. Training will also go a long way with this handsome guy. Although we are still getting to know Theo, we will provide updates soon. If Theo sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet him today.
Monica

Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Monica, her mom, and her six siblings - Amy, Joe, Mikey, Jill, Phoebe, and Rachael - were dumped on a country road in the south. Covered in ringworm, emaciated, and clearly not well cared for, this little family needed help and quickly. Fortunately, a good samaritan found this family and got them to the safety of a shelter. Although shelter staff did a wonderful job getting this family the help they needed, they knew that moms and puppies do not belong in a shelter environment. As a result, a rescue plea went out. When we heard that this little family needed help, MAGSR immediately stepped forward.
Monica's friendly, affectionate, and playful. She is everything that a puppy should be. Although this little girl is a joy, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy energy and antics. They get into things, whine, and will chew on inappropriate items. With time, patience, and training, Monica will develop into the good canine citizen we know she is destined to become. Monica is looking for a loving forever household that will commit to her for a lifetime. If your family is looking for puppy kisses, antics, and wiggles, please ask to meet Monica today.
Updates:What can I say about my beautiful foster Monica. She is crate trained and 99% house trained. She is a super sweet cuddleable dog that just wants everybody's attention all the time. She loves to sleep with us and she is definitely my foot warmer. If it's a cold winter night who doesn't want some Monica loving she's like your own personal heating blanket. She is 100% a puppy and has lots of energy. She walks great on a leash and will heel next to you. I also love that she's very active so long walks or even runs if you're into that would be a big benefit for her. She lives with four other dogs and a cat and does well with all of them. She loves when we work on training and she's very focused oriented so using little training treats, she will do whatever you ask of her. If Monica sounds like a good fit for your family, ask to meet her today?
Shari
ADOPTED 02/14/2022!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Shari and her three babies - Jingle, Winkey, and Duran - were picked up as strays in a busy city. This lovely little family was taken to a shelter for safety. However, recognizing that a shelter is no place for a mom and her pups, shelter staff began reaching out for rescue help. When we heard their plea, MAGSR stepped in to help this sweet little family move forward in safety.
Shari is an absolute love. Everyone that has met this girl has fallen for her lovely personality. Friendly and interactive, Shari was clearly well socialized at one point in her life. Although living on the streets was not easy, Shari did a wonderful job making sure that she and her pups survived. Now that Shari is safe and is getting all of the care, food, and attention she needs, she is ready to move forward. Shari is looking for a loving forever family that will provide her with the structure, routine, and leadership that all GSDs crave. Training will go a long way with Shari. Not only will help her develop into a good canine citizen, but it will also help her bond with her forever family.
Unfortunately, we did find out that sweet Shari is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if her family had provided her with monthly prevention. Fortunately, we have already begun Shari's treatment. The cost of her entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Although heartworm treatment is expensive, lovely Shari is beyond worth the cost. Please consider donating toward Shari's treatment. Your generosity will help us save her and other dogs with medical needs. Although Shari will need to take it slow over the next few months while she undergoes treatment, this will give her time to adjust to her new environment and meet with success in her forever home. Shari is looking for a forever family that will commit to her for a lifetime, could this be with you?
Blake
ADOPTED 02/13/2022!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Blake was picked up as a stray and brought to a shelter. Emaciated and in need of medical attention shelter staff did everything they could to help Blake move forward. Unfortunately, with very limited resources available and significant medical concerns present, staff members worried that Blake would not make it out alive as the shelter was quickly reaching capacity. Fortunately, several groups started reaching out to help Blake move into the safety of a rescue. MAGSR was able to pull Blake to safety just in time.
Blake is a handsome and intelligent guy. It is apparent that he lived with a family as he knows several commands. He also seems to understand how to walk on a leash. Although it seems that someone worked with Blake at some point along his journey, we do not yet know if he is housetrained or crate trained. However, we have discovered that this guy takes direction well and seems to be a confident and stable guy. As Blake moves forward, he will meet with greatest success in a household that will provide the structure, routine, and consistency that all young GSDs crave. Blake will also benefit greatly from continued training as this will help him develop a healthy bond with his forever family.
Blake should be a good sized guy. Unfortunately, he is still so emaciated that it is hard to see his true size at this time. In addition to his skeletal frame, Blake arrived with an untreated skin condition that has caused sores and significant hair loss all along his back-end and tail. Although this is likely very uncomfortable, Blake has remained stable and friendly with our handlers. Fortunately, our amazing vetting team is already at work determining next steps for Blake. A skin scrape has been performed and bloodwork is forthcoming. Until a diagnosis is reached, Blake has been given steroids and is being monitored very closely. Blake's condition did not occur overnight. It will take time to address his medical needs in order to help Blake move forward. Please consider donating to Blake's care. Your donation will not only help us further support Blake, but it will also help us care for other dogs with medical needs. Blake is looking for an active and loving forever family that will commit to him forever. Could that be with you?

Handsome Zieke was picked up as a stray. Once safe, a search for his family was enacted. Although Zieke waited patiently for his family to come and claim him, no one stepped forward. Recognizing that this guy deserved a loving forever home to call his own, several rescue groups began working together to help Zieke move forward. When asked to join in this effort, MAGSR was happy to be a part of this process.
Zieke has had the great fortune of living in a foster home for the past two months. This has given him the opportunity to learn about the joys of living in the safety and comfort of a home. During this time, Zieke has shown that he is an intelligent guy who picks up new learning quickly. Zieke has done well with crate training and housebreaking. Living in a household with dogs of various sizes, Zieke has shown that he is open to furry friends of all sizes. Zieke has also met older children and has done very well. As Zieke is still a very young dog, he will benefit greatly for continued socialization and training. These essential pieces will help Zieke develop into a stable and confident canine citizen. If Zieke sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet this sweet guy today.

Lovely Shortcake was picked up as a stray and brought to a shelter. Unsure about the loud environment, Shortcake was shy with the shelter staff. However, they could tell that this little girl was a sweetheart that deserved a safe and loving forever family. Recognizing that Shortcake would not likely meet with success at the shelter, staff members began reaching out for help. MAGSR learned about Shortcake's need, and immediately welcomed her to the family.
Shortcake is an absolute doll. Although she needs a little time to warm up to new people and new situations, once comfortable, Shortcake vacillates between cuddle bug and playful pup. She is an excellent balance of young dog energy. A big fan of high-value treats, Shortcake quickly makes friends when something tasty is involved. Shortcake's treat motivation will not only provide an excellent motivator for socialization with new people, but it will also help her in training. Training will go a long way with Shortcake. It will help her bond to her forever family as well as provide the foundation needed to develop into a stable and confident adult. Shortcake is looking for a loving family that will provide her with the routine and structure that all GSDs crave. Sweet Opie and his brother were living in a home when they underwent a significant change in the family's structure a couple years ago. When this happened, both dogs were placed outside where they resided with little care for the next year and a half. Suddenly, another change in the family structure occurred and both dogs were taken to a shelter. Although Opie's brother was transferred to a rescue, he was left behind. Shelter staff loved Opie, but they recognized that this sweet guy was slowly sliding into depression while waiting alone for someone to claim him. When we learned about Opie's need for placement, our team immediately put a plan together to help this sweet gentleman move into the MAGSR family.
Opie is just starting the next phase in his life. He's learning about the joy of having a warm, soft, and comfortable bed in a safe and loving home. Having gone through so many changes in a short time, Opie is getting some much needed decompression. He is getting all the love and attention he needs from his foster family. As Opie moves forward, he will benefit from a household that will provide him with structure, routine, and patience. This will help him adjust to his forever family. Opie is a sweet guy who is looking for a family that will love him through his golden years. Could this be with you?

Keagan and his buddy, Bridget, were surrendered to a shelter. The family did not provide the shelter with a reason for the surrender. However, once in their care, it became clear to shelter staff that these two dogs had not always been treated kindly. Timid and unsure, both dogs can be fearful with new people and situations. However, given time and support, both Bridget and Keagan have shown that they are sweet dogs. Although shelter staff enjoyed both dogs, they recognized that Bridget and Keagan would have their best chance at finding their forever families if they were placed in a breed specific rescue. We were more than happy to welcome both dogs into the MAGSR family.
Keagan is one handsome guy. Although a little more outgoing than his sister, Keagan is still shy when it comes to new people and in new situations. His forever family will need to keep a close eye on Keagan as he adjusts to his new life and household. Having likely been mistreated in her previous home, Keagan can be a little unsure when approached quickly. However, when given a chance to adjust, Keagan does enjoy attention from his people. A stable environment with clear routines and structure will go a long way with this guy. He will thrive with structure, leadership, and love. As is true of all dogs, it is critical that Keagan participate in training early on with his new family. Training will not only help Keagan develop the confidence he needs to become a stable adult, but it will also help him create a strong and healthy bond with his forever family. Keagan is looking for a patient family that will commit to him for a lifetime, could that be with you?

Jesamine and her four sisters - Jesalyn, Jesenya, Jesibel, and Jesirae - were found by a good samaritan on the side of the road. Thinking these babies were likely dumped, this kind person collected them all and brought them to an animal clinic to make sure they were safe and healthy. Once medically cleared the pups were taken to a shelter to wait out their stray hold. Although these girls are playful and interactive, the shelter is no place for babies. When asked if we could help these little ladies move forward, we immediately made arrangements to welcome them into the MAGSR family.
Jesamine is playful, energetic and cute as a button. Within the safety of the MAGSR family, this little girl is just starting to learn about the joys of good food, a soft bed, and a loving household. Jesamine is ready to move forward with a forever family that will provide her with the love, care, and attention that this little pup so clearly deserves. Although Jesamine is an absolute doll, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy energy which results in endless puppy antics. They will get into things, whine, and will chew on inappropriate items. With time, training, patience, and socialization, Jesamine will develop into the good canine citizen we know she is destined to become. Jesamine is looking for a forever home that will commit to her for a lifetime. Could that be with you?

Updates:Jesibel may be the smallest of her sisters but she is also the bravest and smartest! Only two days in and she is learning to ask to go outside to potty. We positively reinforce proper bathroom habits and she is very food motivated--she's even tried to "fake pee" for her treat! A champ for nail trimmings and baths, she is an easy house guest, especially for a 9 week old puppy! She enjoys play wrestling with our resident cat and will run to Jesamine's aid if she thinks the cat has gained the upper hand. She is also a grade A snuggle bug who loves to be as close to you as possible. Sometimes the noises she makes convince me she is more Gremlin than German Shepherd, but it really just increases her cute factor. She is going to be such a cool dog as she grows into her personality and discovers the world around her!
