FINALLY GOING HOME!
Donation receipts available upon request. ADOPTED 9/29/09! Sex: Male Good With Kids: Unknown
DESCRIPTION: Rolf is kind of a laid back, big and handsome guy who was turned into the shelter by his owner because the family was moving and chose not to take him along. He is understandably a bit depressed at this....not a good way to treat your best friend for so many years, is it? Rolf has put the past behind him and is ready to move on. :) We are not sure if Rolf was and "inside" or "outside" or both "sides" kind of guy - however, he does not like to soil his living quarters so may possibly be housebroken. He has a few skin issues and they are being addressed right now at the vet's office. Rolf should be ready to meet and greet soon. Please ask to meet this very good looking boy! He would be so happy to be your next best forever friend. Update: Rolf is a quiet sweet dog who seems to be trying to take in all things that happen in his surroundings. He is housebroken and now has the run of the house day and night. Rolf loves to play fetch and squeek anything. Rolf is calm and I have not heard him bark in the two weeks he has been here. Rolf gets along very well with his two foster brothers and is learning to live under the rule of the queen, his foster sister.
Rolf is crate trained. I don't think Rolf was ever exposed to very much affection because when he first came to us, he would watch with great interest all affection being showered on my dogs and he just sat on the
sidelines taking it all in until after about 10 days he decided to try
it and his first attempts were stiff and uncomfortable, but now he
gathers with the other 3 to receive hugs and kisses. ADOPTED 9/26/09! Sex: Male Good With Kids: Yes DESCRIPTION: Fabio is our handsome and very suave new buddy! He found himself on the streets, needing food, needing water, needing a job, needing a home -- the whole works! Fabio is a good looking, typical devil-may-care young, male GSD. He is just waiting for the right family to come along - take him home and make him happy for the rest of his life! He is a neat looking pup, with funky ears - the result of infections that did not heal properly. He has medication now for those troublesome ears. They will never stand up again, but he won't be in any pain anymore, either-- and we think they make him look very special. :) Fabio will need structure and discipline and, of course, training - so important for the happiness and well being of both pup and his person, but he has promised us, (cross paws), that he will do his homework every night and be the best in his class! Fabio is with his foster family now and if you would like to meet him, please contact us so we can make arrangements for this to happen. Fabio - one handsome dude - waiting to meet you! :) UPDATE: Fabio (we've nicknamed him Fritz) is one sweet guy. He's definitely housebroken and VERY good with other dogs.
He even bowed to an itty bitty Chihuahua. We also had a run in with a cat in a carrier. He did bark at the cat in a playful way, so he might chase
cats. He knows some basic commands (sit and down) and is smart and eager to please, so he should excel at obedience training! Fabio/Fritz loves to
play fetch, and will actually return the item he's fetched. He also enjoys baths and is especially fond of the "lather" part of lather, rinse, repeat.
He is food driven (always looking for a snack) but does not appear to be food aggressive and takes treats gently. Fabio is also one serious cuddle bug-
if you have a lap his head will be in it :-). We've noticed that he does not seem familiar with stairs and is hesitant and cautious when going up or
down stairs. He seems to like his crate and doesn't mind spending time in it- no crying or barking when we leave and he always seems totally calm when
we return. He shares toys with our 6 year old female and has very good manners around her and other dogs. Overall he is laid back and seems happy just
to have a soft place to catch a nap and someone to play fetch with. Could you give this this easy going sweetheart his forever home? UPDATE: Fabio(aka Fritz) has begun is settling in nicely. He's adjusted well to our busy schedules and seems perfectly crate and house-trained. He enjoys long strolls through the neighborhood, but doesn't fancy himself much of a runner, sniffing anything out of the ordinary, eating, and making friends with everyone he meets. This gentle giant is AWESOME with small dogs and has our neighbor's 25lb German pinscher quite smitten. He's learning the stairs, although we think he'd prefer a luxurious ranch home to our little town house, and is starting to get the hang of some house manners (at least when we're looking). Fabio does test his limits in the house- putting a paw on the couch, then an elbow, and maybe laying his head down, checking to see just how far he can get before we notice and say "no." He is strong willed and whimsical and will need a person who is loving but firm (even when caught in his heart melting gaze) who will commit to obedience training with him. We've noticed that he responds more quickly to hand signals than verbal commands, but does respond to both. Can you give this sweet guy the love, stability, consitency (and kibbles) that he craves? Ask to meet Fabio today! UPDATE: Well, our sweet foster boy had another fabulous day at Germantown Pet Smart this Saturday. He met countless dogs, laid eyes (very calm, beautiful, benign eyes) on a slew of cats and kittens, and made lots of new human friends too! He was in great spirits, sporting a fashionable donation jacket and mooching treats off of visitors. Fabio (aka Fritz) is still looking for his forever home- hard to believe! Fill out an application and ask to meet this Fab-ulous boy today! (Pun absolutely intended :-) ) ADOPTED 9/26/09! Sex: Male DESCRIPTION: Meet Abbott - the other half of Costello! :) One of a litter of tiny puppies confiscated along with a large number of his family from an abusive and neglectful situation. Boy was he dirty!! And very, very smelly! :) Now he is a fluffy, cute, wiggly and adorable bundle of white fur! Abbott is now residing comfortably in his foster home along with brother Costello and some other fur foster sibs. He will stay there, learning the ropes of being a good puppy until he finds his forever family. Adopting a puppy is a serious business that we at MAGSR do not take lightly at all. This is a commitment of 12-15 years that involves many things - love and patience are absolutely required, of course, as is a commitment to the dog that this puppy is to become. He will need training - and lots of it - and this is to assure that he become a canine good citizen and to cement that bond to his people that is so vital. Please consider all the aspects of adopting a puppy - the good, the bad, and the ugly. There will be chewing, there will be messes, there will be frustration beyond frustration - and money - yes, you will spend money! :) But you will be rewarded with a love that is unconditional and loyalty and companionship to last his lifetime. And did I mention that raising a puppy is fun! Yes, it is fun, too - along with all the rest, you get to watch these little creatures grow - and that is fun and very rewarding. Please take all this into consideration - it is well worth it! Abbott's foster parents will update soon with news and pictures. At his baby age he's already learning to potty on paper. He sleeps all night in his crate without a single peep, not bad for a baby! He loves loves loves toys! When he has free run of the family room he puppy hops from toy to toy with lots of enthusiasm and joy. He is such a happy puppy and loves everyone. Loves his food, his crate, his toys, his naps, his potty paper, his dog friends, his people….oh life is so good for a puppy. Good With Kids: Yes DESCRIPTION: Slider is an absolutely adorable puppy. She is frisky, sweet, loving and very playful. A typical, wonderful, sweet little girl. Would you believe that someone threw this innocent little puppy from a car? Well, that is exactly what they did.....she has a long line of a healing wound on her back where she hit the road. :( It is healing quite nicely now, and Slider is fine. Puppies forgive - and she has. She is all ready -- oh boy, is she ready, to move on and get on with her life! Slider can't wait to meet her forever family. Please do your research, and make sure that you can commit to this little life for at least 10+ years. She will have accidents, chew things, and do everything that a puppy will do -- and annoy her family probably quite often....she is a baby -- that is what they do. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to giving this puppy all that she deserves - not only in the material things, but give her of yourself. She needs to be part of the family - go on hikes, walks, play ball -- and most importantly - she needs training - which will be an ongoing process for quite a while. She will reward her people with an unconditional and unending love and devotion --- it makes all the stuff you have to go through to get her there worth it. :) Are you ready? Contact us to make an appointment to meet Slider. Update: Hi it's me, Slider. I'm in my foster home playing with some BIG dogs and my foster sister Buttons (she's looking for a furever home too!). I've had a rough road getting to MAGSR - I was thrown out of a car by some people who weren't too nice. I have a big boo-boo down my back and I also broke my sternum <breastbone>. I'm recovering from bronchitis too but foster Mom says I'll be over these coughs and sneezes in about a week and ready to meet my adoring public then. Everyone at the vet's office thinks I'm cute and I must say I have to agree with them. I'm spunky and sweet. I like to play with toys and chew on bones and I prance when I walk, just like a princess! Sex: Female DESCRIPTION: Carlotta has not had such a sweet life up until now. She was at first given away to someone who answered a newspaper advertisement and then taken and tied to a tree with no shelter.....not such a good thing. She eventually found her way to the animal shelter where some kind people directed her to MAGSR. And here she is! Carlotta is a very pretty girl and she would like everyone that was instrumental in her rescue to know just how happy she is to be where she is now! :) She is very sure she is on the right road to a good home at last. Carlotta is said to be good with other dogs and children and ok with cats. A petite and pretty girl, still a puppy and still in need of the usual -- patience, structure and consistency, training and above all love. This is a nice girl that deserves a break and a good home now. She is at the vet's office for a short time getting checked out and being spayed. She will be ready to meet you very soon. If you can give this young miss a good home forever, please contact us soon. She is a sweet and friendly lady - a bit on the portly side - just needs to cut down a smidge..... :) She is big boned, you know - not fat! :D Some exercise will certainly help! She is housebroken and ready and willing to learn all about doggy manners and will be happy to go to training with her new family. She is a smart girl and will pick up the basics in now time at all. Angie will make a great family dog! She and Jax are ready to move on with their lives. They are perfectly comfortable apart - and ready to make some new friends. This is a real nice guy -- not too very many of them around, right? :) And he is so handsome - with a personality that shines through his beautiful brown eyes.....Well, Doug was stuck in this not so nice place, way far away - and that face did it! Yes it did! One look at those eyes and we had to have him here with us! :) Doug is very smart - they told us that he could undo the latch on a chain link gate. So that explains how he could have become the happy canine wanderer. He had some problems with his ears that have been addressed, needed a bath, which was done...and now he is set. All ready for that forever home with maybe a nice tall fence and a padlock that is Doug proof! :) Could use some good food, a nice bed, a few nice long walks and lots of love. Man, Doug is just lookin' for love! He needs a family - and this dog will be a fantastic family dog. He is past the wild and nutty puppy phase. This is a gentleman in the prime of life and he so needs a decent break now. Needs some fine tuning, a little tweaking, training - that is a must have - but he is smart, remember? Doug is a keeper! Ask to meet him and listen to his story. :) Adopted 9/11/09! Sex: Male Good With Kids: Yes
Click here for a Video of Ferris and Costello playing DESCRIPTION: Meet Ferris - literally the baby in the basket! He was found on a front porch late at night when the homeowner heard a dog barking. There he was in a crate with his blanket and a toy. :) Ferris has just about one of the cutest doggy faces you will ever see! His former temp foster reports that he is a very smart cookie that is completely crate trained and gets along with everything and everybody. Ferris listens well, knows his name, is well behaved, and sleeps in the crate with no problem at all. Ferris is enjoying life now with his MAGSR foster family. He has a few fur foster sibs - and he will have them wrapped around his paw in no time! :) Ferris is all ready to meet and greet his public. He is so anxious to find that forever home! His foster parents will update soon with new information and more pictures. If you think that Ferris is the pup for you, please contact us. Update: Ferris has been with us for almost 2 weeks and he has already adapted to our routines. He's housebroken and crate trained, and very smart for a puppy. He sleeps through the night and gets up around 6:00 (or as soon as the light comes in his room) . He loves other dogs (we have 4, all sizes) and people of all ages. He knows to sit for his treats and is learning to walk nicely on a leash. He's a really sweet little boy that loves to play and snuggle. He loves kisses and hugs and being told he's a good boy. He comes inside when we call him and takes corrections without a fuss. Ferris will make his forever family very happy they adopted him. If you're looking for the perfect little guy come meet Ferris. ADOPTED 9/9/09! Sex: Female Good With Kids: Yes DESCRIPTION: Poor Penny! Penny with the beautiful eyes and face is a very sweet and very scared little girl. She was pulled from the pound at the last possible minute and taken to a shelter where they recognized a beautiful soul and fell in love with her. Penny is a shy, timid little girl - friendly, but definitely not in her comfort zone initially. After you spend some time and gain her trust she will slowly wag that tucked tail and start to come out of her shell. She would love to have a permanent home now that will make her feel safe, will love her and teach her that there are nice people in this world and that there is nothing to fear ever again. She will need to slowly build that trust through structure and consistency - she is going to need people who are patient and loving - who can see that down the road there will be a wonderful ending to the story. Penny will give her people unconditional love and trust. If you feel that you can always be there for this precious girl, please come and visit her. Won't you see if she will fit in with your family? Update: Penny is doing fine in her foster home with 3 other dogs and a 6 year old little girl. ADOPTED 9/9/09! She was living on borrowed time at the shelter, but the staff recognized a true lady and a gem -- and here she is! Savannah is very sweet, very friendly and she most likely has had a litter of puppies very recently. No more of that, no sireee! That is all behind her! :) No more puppies - no more traveling! Savannah just wants to settle down with a nice family who will teach her what she needs to know - And at this point it is just about everything - She has had little training and needs to learn how walk on a leash like a proper lady dog should. Savannah makes friends quickly, emjpys being with ladies - is a bit shy around men, but warms up quickly. Some patience, lots of love, some training for both owner and pup, and you have yourself a fantastic dog! Savannah is waiting. ADOPTED 9/9/09! Sex: Male DESCRIPTION: Toby is a great dog! He was given up because of family circumstances
and he now finds himself in need of a new home. He was very much loved and very, very well cared for, but --stuff happens and Toby will
make the best of it. Toby is housebroken, crate trained, walks like a champ on the leash, loves to walk and sniff as a matter of fact! :)
He lived with smaller dogs - loves everyone and would fit into just about any family. Now, he is not too, too fussy mind you -- but he
would really like a family that would include him in on just about everything that they do. And, he is ready and willing to further his
education with his people training wise -- you know, you never should stop learning, that's what Toby says! :) And he knows that should be
lots of fun for everyone - pup and person alike! Please ask to see this wonderful, sweet and smart gentleman. He is waiting now to

DESCRIPTION: Sara was recently returned after having been adopted, through no fault of her own.
She is a cuddly, housebroken sweetheart. Sara and her best furry doggy friend , Scarlett lived in a home together with a family for quite a while, but recently that family decided that Sara and her buddy were no longer wanted and off to the shelter they went. Well, Sara's buddy has been adopted, and now Sara is very lonely and would love to have a nice home again -- and maybe a friendly fur buddy to share doggy stories with, too. Sara is a smaller girl and very, very sweet. The ladies at the shelter worked very hard to make sure that Sara made it safely to rescue. She is a special little lady and deserves a wonderful home. Won't you come and meet sweet Sara? She is very patiently waiting. Update: Sara is a dog who captures your attention the minute you see her. She loves her toys and greets volunteers at the door to her kennel run with her toys in her mouth! She adores toys and will happily go for walks. She prefers a soft comfy place to sleep and just wants love. Ask to meet little Sara today! Update: Sara is a sweetheart! She responds well to basic commands and is obedient. She does great with other dogs, large and small. She has a great dispostion and is pretty laid back. Don't let her laid back personality fool you though, she has some spunk too! Sara enjoys car rides, taking walks, and being outdoors. She is just an all around wonderful companion with lots of love to give. She is ready to share it with you!!! Update: If you are looking for a companion who enjoys a leisurely paced stroll, who loooooooves to cuddle but isn't an attention hog, who doesn't get into much trouble, who will make sure strangers know a dog is present, and who will greet you at the door every single time WITH your slippers, than you may be the perfect companion for Sara! Don't sleep on this one, she'll make a great addition to your home! Adopted 9/1/09! DESCRIPTION: Gracie along with her sister Anya was adopted as a puppy a few years back. She and Anya have both been returned to MAGSR in search of a lifestyle more suited to their personalities. Gracie is crate trained and housebroken, good with dogs....but cats -- eh, NO. Gracie also chases the cats. The cats and the chasing -- and the resulting chaos with three very young children and working parents did not mix well at all. Gracie is not sure around young children - they make her nervous. Loud noises and small noisy, darting children startle her and make her unhappy. Gracie would prefer a nice quiet, cat free home with adults or older children, a nice soft bed to rest and relax on and just to hang out with her people. Gracie is the perfect dog to come home to. She would just wait patiently until you came home, told her about your day and took her for a long, easy walk. She loves walks and being brushed.... She smiles. :) What do you think? A little training, some quiet time, patience and a whole lot of love -- and you have yourself (and your family) a very nice dog! Update: SF - Beautiful blonde female who enjoys quiet walks, good conversations and snuggling in bed, looking for a refined adult companion to share the same.
Gracie is a lab mix and very proud of her heritage. She wants you to know that while her 3 shepherd siblings tease her about her floppy ears and lab nose she takes it all in stride. She s a big girl who listens well, walks easily on a leash and loves her off leash romps in our fenced yard; no critters (or strangers) dare enter when Gracie is on patrol. As a result of these workouts she has regained her girlish figure. At four she is a bit set in her ways preferring her companions to be larger and laid-back so a household with small children or kitties would not be a good choice.
Gracie waits patiently for me to come home, never an accident, but is absolutely thrilled when I walk in the door. Her love makes you totally forget the stress and pressures of the work day. Adopted 8/29/09! DESCRIPTION: Emma Lou is a pretty young thing. She ended up in a shelter and now is just waiting for the right family to come along. She is a bit timid, but warms up to you quickly enough. She was kept outdoors at times in her previous life, so she may need a refresher or a brush up course in her housebreaking. Emma Lou is a pretty neat girl in her kennel, so that should not be a problem at all. She is your typical German Shepherd - she is very regal looking and a smart cookie! With some training, some tender, loving care, patience and lots of love, she will be your loyal and loving companion. Emma Lou is the type of dog that will bond very deeply to her family. She would love a foster home while waiting. Ask to meet Ms. Emma Lou. UPDATE: Emma Lou is a sweet, sweet, gentle girl. She made her Germantown debut today and attracted throngs of people with her good looks and wonderful temperament. She is quiet and very polite when introducing herself to people. She's gentle and calm with children and takes treats like a true lady. she's a very classy dame with fabulous manners. Emma got the chance to introduce herself to some MAGSR alums and did very well. She gets very excited and a little jumpy when she first sees a new dog, but settles down and does well with a slow, gradual introduction. She is quite capable of sitting near another dog and ignoring him or her, although she does not seem to care for some small dogs. Emma Lou seems to be a quick learner and will happily work for a treat. In the 4 hours I spent with her she learned down, not flawlessly, but it was a good start! She is very intelligent and also very quiet- not a barker. Could you give this beautiful girl the forever home she deserves? Ask to meet Emma Lou today! UPDATE: We have had the pleasure of having Emma Lou as a house guest the past two nights. When let outside, Emma Lou did her ‘business’ right away, so she does indeed seem to be housebroken. She has been fine in the crate – hardly a word out of her… except an occasional whimper when the other dogs started playing, as if saying she wanted in on the fun. She is a rough player, however. When people came to the door, she barked until we confirmed that all was OK. She also barked a tad at my dogs when they came close to her crate. (However, at the Petsmart events, she was well-behaved around other big dogs; small dogs not so much – she was intently focused on them.) She excitedly explored the house and yard when given the chance, sniffing everything in sight! When allowed to play freely on the carpeted areas, she bounced around with the tennis ball, and then repeatedly rolled to her back for a good back-scratch! She is calm around my two children, ages 4 and 8, and took treats gently. She will make some lucky family very happy! Adopted 8/29/09! Sex: Male DESCRIPTION: Crockett is a beautiful young man who is now looking for a perfect place to hang his leash. He is big, strong, energetic and strong willed. Crockett is a typical smart, vocal and pushy GSD. He will need an experienced, patient and loving hand. When tested with other large dogs, he was fine although assertive. Crockett definitely talks to you (and talks back to you) :) -- and has absolutely no manners at all. None! Zilch, Nada! :) He has everything to learn! He will test his handler to see how much he can get away with - he needs to have boundaries set and he needs structure and a commitment to training from his people. Crockett is a "fetch fiend"! :) He LOVES TO PLAY BALL! When he needs to chill, a nice long game of fetch will be just what makes this boy happy. He has a favorite kong that came with him from the shelter, but tennis balls, kongs, anything works - just throw it! :) With his energy level and drive, we would recommend him to a home with adults only or older children. Crockett will absolutely excell at training - and may go beyond basics to possibly Agility, Rally, Search and Rescue or maybe other service type "jobs". This is a dog that will definitely need a job, he needs that mental and physical stimulation to avoid becoming bored. Boredom is a surefire way to get a dog in trouble! If you have experience with the breed and can offer this amazing, high energy and intelligent dog a wonderful life; make a lifetime commitment to him, take him to training and just watch him grow and blossom before your eyes....ask to meet Crockett. He will run away with your heart. Adopted 8/23/09! Sex: Male DESCRIPTION: Max has recently been returned to us and is now in search of a permanent home. Max is a big boy and is in need of structure and consistency in his new home. He has had no training in his short life - although we are now working diligently to have him learn to walk properly on a leash and obey simple commands. He will absolutely need a home with those experienced with the German Shepherd breed. Max will need further training in a socialized setting and he will excel. He is a beautiful dog and will give his all to please his people. He loves to play ball and he takes his treats oh so gently, but is not really treat driven. He is a young and friendly boy, but he is after all a German Shepherd -- and smart. Max needs direction and training to develop that bond of trust with his people - or he will automatically assume that he is in charge. He is looking for leadership and responds well to commands and corrections. This is a very special dog that is waiting for a special family. Update: Max is doing well in his temp foster home. He is fully housetrained. He is also crate trained but doesn't need a crate. We have given him fully access to our family room during the day while we are at work. He has been the perfect gentleman and is now caught up on all his daytime drama shows. He has drastically improved on his leash manners and is learning his basic commands. Max is definitely in need of full training to help him understand his roll and to establish boundaries. He gets along with other dogs but prefers people. He is a total love bug. He loves my kids and cries for their attention. He likes cats as a snack only. No small animals please! Did I mention he is huge? 97lbs to be exact. Max is an awesome dog ask to meet him today. He is a big, friendly goof who needs a family to take him to training and show him what being a nice, well mannered family pet is all about. He needs to learn leash manners, etc....and he is so ready! He and Angie are ready to move on with their lives....are perfectly comfortable apart, and ready to make new friends. Found himself at the shelter because he seemed to have lost his way............No problem...the nice shelter people contacted MAGSR and here he is! Brodie is a nice boy - maybe not treated too well in the past - He seems to have not been had the proper exercise or had good nutrition during his puppyhood. He has a bit of a "sway" to his back, and his feet look like he needs to build up a little muscle there. He definitely could use a good quality food and an exercise program to help him get into tip top shape. Brodie has been described as very friendly to people, great with dogs, but a defininte NO with cats! :) Well, to each his own, ya know! He has his preferences! :) He is the type of dog that we see as fitting in with almost any type of family - with no cats, of course! :) He needs training and structure from his new folks - needs to know the boundaries and limits like all good dogs -- and we are pretty sure that he will shine. She had lost a good deal of her coat and was virtually "furless". She was NOT in good shape at all. The Animal Control facility staff that took her in recognized the spirit of a fighter and the heart of a true princess in her pretty brown eyes. They cared for her and brought her back to health through the very long months.....Candy is now just fine, thank you very much! She is peppy, pretty, and a trifle plump! She is a sweetie that would just love to be part of a family....but, remember, she has spent many months in a shelter recuperating from her ordeal -- and she has not had much experience being a family member. She will have to be taught the finer points of family life.....She needs to learn some "house and walking manners" and she will need training - which will help her bond to her brand new family. We are confident that with some love, lots of patience, and training, Candy is the type of dog that will be a loyal part of her family's life forever. Come and meet sweet Candy! Adopted 8/19/09! heart, please contact us. adopted 8/12/09! Sex: Male DESCRIPTION: Tommy is a beautiful and stately gentle giant. He is described as very laid back and unflappable! :) In other words, very little will upset him. A very good trait to have! Tommy was a stray and came in to the shelter in pretty bad shape....thin and with a very bad skin condition. He is now absolutely gorgeous and ready to find a place to park his paws permanently. Tommy traveled a long way to rescue, and his driver informed us that Tommy could really use a bath! :) He may be a little stinky, but hey, that is easily fixed! Tommy is also going to need a family that will commit to working with him and training him so that he can truly shine and make his people proud. Good food, fresh water, a nice bed, a bath now and then, brushing that long, beautiful coat (that will be a job! :), and all that goes with it....Tommy will reward his family with unconditional love and devotion forever....no kidding! Ask for an introduction. Adopted 08/10/09! Sex: Male DESCRIPTION: Ruger was given up because his owner refused to care for him any longer. Ruger was turned in covered with fleas and with significant hair loss, probably due at least in part to the flea infestation. He is also considerably underweight. He is now at the vets having his situation addressed. He will be treated, tested, bathed and otherwise made ready to go to a loving and forever family very soon. With all this going on Ruger remains a sweet and wonderful soul that just craves human kindness and the touch of a loving hand. Ruger would love to finally have the family life he never had - and should have had. He is the perfect dog to take to training, take on hikes, play ball, and to just spend time hanging out with his family. If you can give this beautiful animal a loving and caring home - forever - please ask to meet him. And do contact us,too, if you could foster this nice guy until he does find that perfect home, adopted 8/7/09!
DESCRIPTION: Misty is our lovely, very special girl. She has lived in a home with other dogs, has been to obedience class and knows and responds well to all basic commands and just loves all people. She can be overwhelmed and anxious around smaller children, so we recommend that she go to a home with older children only. She has great leash manners and loves riding in a car; she loves bones and balls and loves to play with other dogs. She hates the vacuum cleaner! Misty is a fantastic dog. When you meet her you realize just how very special she is. Misty has only three legs. We believe that she may have been born with this condition. This in no way stops this very intelligent, fairly energetic and pretty little girl from being an otherwise normal dog. She is now in her foster home, hanging out with a bunch of foster fur buddies, getting all ready for a forever home. She will not only run circles around her people, she will bond very tightly to them. She is a keeper. Ask to meet Ms. Misty soon. Update: Miss Misty is soooo sweet. Don't let the 3 legged thing fool you she is
completely normal in her capabilities and activities. She has no problem
with chasing and running around, goes up and down steps (sometimes a
little too quickly and is completely housebroken. She gets along well
with her 2 foster brothers and 1 foster sister. Misty has no food
agression and she does not tear up items in the house or yard that are
not for her. In the evening she settles in with two toys one stuffed and
one ball and amuses herself quietly for hours. She has been crated but
is not crated at all, during the day and night she roams the house as
she pleases without issue. Misty would make some lucky person/family the
perfect companion. adopted 8/6/09! DESCRIPTION: Bria is in a word - Gorgeous! She is a little skinny, but should fatten up just fine -- needs a little TLC and some really good food. She will be a knockout in no time at all. Bria, like her friend
came from a home with many animals. She is also now with the rescue now because her family could not care for her properly. Bria is used to peaceably hanging out with dogs, rabbits, ferrets and cats. Bria will need some reassurance and training. She needs to build back her trust in people.....and is in need of some direction and structure in her life. She also will need a commitment to training and a loving, breed knowledgeable home. Patience and love - lots of it, too. :) Bria is with her foster right now - getting used to a new place altogether. Her foster mom will update soon with new pictures and new information. Update: Bria has been in her foster home for about a week now, and we’ve begun to learn a little more about her. As she has adjusted to her new surroundings and a new schedule, she has become more relaxed and confident with us. Bria is a sweet young girl, who bonds very closely to her people.
While we don’t know a lot about her true personality yet, I can report that Bria appears to be housebroken, and is becoming more accepting of her crate. She was initially hesitant around my two boy GSDs, but is becoming more confident and assertive with time. Bria enjoys the older dog’s company (he is quite mellow) and tolerates, so far, my younger dog’s antics; she obviously prefers to be in charge of the dog-pack. While Bria seems loving to all people, she is not recommended for a family with young children, as she is somewhat reactive to her space being threatened – she has snapped at/quarreled with my younger dog for this offense. Bria accepts my role as pack leader without question however, and will assume a submissive posture when corrected by voice command.
Bria has visited the vet recently for ear yeast infections, and we hope these will be under control soon. At that time it was suggested that her ear/skin issues may be related to food allergies, but it is too early to confirm this. At this time we are trying to help her gain weight with good nutrition and daily moderate exercise.
Bria’s true beauty will shine through any health-related issues she may have – she is a real looker with her long black/red/tan coat and her big brown puppy eyes. Stay tuned for future updates… adopted 8/3/09! DESCRIPTION: Portia is tired of the wandering life. She needs a permanent place to rest her paws and is actively looking - right now! This is a sweet miss, a trifle shy, but warms up to a friendly face and a kind voice quickly enough. She is looking for a home forever. That is forever, as in always, eternally and never ending. :) She would like a family that is willing to commit to her in the same way she is willing to commit to them. She will pledge her love and her loyalty - forever. Portia needs some training,- she would love to further her "education", lots of really good food, fresh cold water, a nice place to sleep and someone or some special people that will love her. A foster home while she is waiting would be nice, too. Won't you ask to meet this lovely lady? Update: Ms. Portia is living with a pretty boisterous 11 year old male Beagle, she allows him to jump in her face and she's pretty calm about it. I think she would enjoy the company of another dog, but she would probably enjoy a larger dog to play with. She is fully house-trained (has not had any accident's in my home) and is crate trained. She seems curious of other dogs and will need proper introductions. Portia has been very respectful of all the dogs in her training class and walks well on a leash, is learning to sit, stay and other commands. She is highly intelligent and will need a dedicated family to continue training with her and someone who is a strong pack leader to establish boundaries with her. She is very sweet and loving, however needs a very competent dog savvy GSD household, as she is a very powerful girl. She listens and responds well and is very curious of her surroundings. She needs mental stimulation and has high prey drive, but otherwise is a calm girl. She will need consistent training as her family must be dedicated to this as she is not a low energy girl. Portia would do well in a family that enjoys training and will take her beyond the basic or beginners class. She likes to have a job, so she might enjoy agility training and competitions or even Search and Rescue. She's very smart and once she comes out of her shell and has more confidence she might even be capable of getting her canine good citizen and work as a therapy dog. adopted 8/3/09! Sex: Male Good With Kids: Unknown DESCRIPTION: This very handsome dog was most likely the victim of neglect and some kind of physical abuse. He is terrified of just about everything and sucks the floor when you try just to get him out of the crate for a walk. He will come around. It just may take time -- and this is what rescue is all about. Raffle shows absolutely no aggression towards the people that want to help him...he is just scared. He is so sweet when you gain his trust - and that takes a while - and you can tell that he is working very hard trying to overcome some very serious unknown demons....Raffle is in his foster home now - and his fosters are pretty familiar with dogs that have fear issues or that are just scared of life in general. :) Raffle is in a good place; he has furry foster siblings of both the canine and feline variety -- and his fosters Mom will update soon with better pictures and more current information. UPDATE: Raffle is slowly coming out of his shell and becoming a happy guy. He gets along well with his three dog foster siblings and is learning that toys and kongs are part of what being a dog is all about. Raffle is housebroken and sleeps through the night in his crate He is a blank slate as far as obedience is concerned but is learning: he does not pull when walked on leash. Raffle eagerly greets us in the morning with a wagging tail, bright eyes and upright posture which is a dramatic transformation over his first days here. Stay tuned! Adopted 08/01/09! Sex: Female Good With Kids: Unknown DESCRIPTION: Shipley is a truly striking dog -- beautiful to look at and with a friendly personality. She has lived with many, many animals. She is with the rescue now because her family could not care for her properly. She is used to peaceably hanging out with dogs, rabbits, ferrets and cats. Shipley is in need of some direction and structure in her life now; she was used to being a free spirit for a long time. Shipley will need a commitment to training and a loving, breed knowledgeable home. She is with her foster right now - getting used to a new place altogether. Her foster mom will update soon with new pictures and new information. Update: After being here for one week, Shipley is definitely coming out of her shell! She is still very fearful of visitors and we are working on that, but she is definitely more comfortable with her foster family now. Visitors scare her to the point that when I have forced her to stay in the room with the new person, she has crawled into my lap...at least that of her that would fit ;-) Shipley is very sweet and quite sensitive as well, she really wants nothing more than to please. She loves to snuggle and get as close and comfy as possible, I find her laying at my feet quite often. She seems to know little about toys and just recently began chewing bones, but only while she was alone - once you walk in the room she stops as if she is doing something wrong. Shipley has definitely been an A+ house guest - she is crate trained, although I have already begun leaving her out in the house because she shows no signs of destructive behaviors and has not even had a single accident while here and that NEVER happens when you bring a new dog home. She has come here with little obedience training and leash manners, but we are working on those as well and she is already showing great promise. She gets along great with the resident dogs and I think if they would allow her, she would love to play with them. Shipley is a happy little girl who is anxious to find a family to call her own - she will be your number one fan, without a doubt! Adopted 08/01/09! Sex: Male DESCRIPTION: Poor Balthasar was hit by a car and brought in to the shelter. His owners were notified that he was injured and he waited patiently for them to pick him up from the shelter - but they never showed. They decided to abandon him instead. Fortunately MAGSR stepped in to save him and to help him heal.
In the time Balti has spent with us, he has truly stolen our hearts. This once untrusting and hand-shy boy has blossomed into a big, loving, goofball. He has overcome the mistreatments of his past and is loving every minute of it! His injuries from the car accident have healed. Every morning when the alarm goes off but before we get out of bed, Balti says good morning to us by walking over and laying that big handsome head of his on my chest.
He is a devoted companion who loves to go on walks at a nice slow, leisurely pace. He also loves playing a good game of chase with his foster siblings, or ball with himself. He will toss it in the air and catches it himself! One of his favorite games is trying to catch the water droplets, as you can see from his photos. But most of all, he likes to relax in his dog bed and take naps. Balti has been waiting patiently for his forever home to come along, do you have room in your heart for him? Adopted 08/1/09! changed and unfortunately he was not part of the plan. He wants all his pals to know that he is the same cool dude - and he is looking
forward to meeting some new friends. Moose needs that forever home now - Seriously! He would like y'all to know that he is ready!
Moose is a great dog! He loves kids, but nooo kitties, and is picky about his doggy friends - but hey, aren't some of us picky as well?
Moose is very trainable and adaptable to any situation. He needs firm direction, because he is so smart, and a wee bit stubborn, too!
However, he has been described as really a love! :) He would love to show off some moves and go to training with his new folks...He
will be a star! Come and meet this handsome boy! He is waiting! Mooooose!
DESCRIPTION: Miracle is a sweet and lovely lady whose days at the shelter were numbered. She made it to us just in the nick of time! She is described as affectionate and a quiet dog who walks well on a leash and loves to be with people. Miracle takes treats like a lady and will sit on command. She gets along with other dogs and is just a bit timid, but she has been through a lot lately and does relax after just a few moments. She is so anxious to find that home that she is sure is waiting for her -- somewhere... :) Miracle is settling in nicely with her foster family; meeting humans and the other furry creatures now and resting up. Her foster mom will update soon with new information about this pretty lady and some new pictures. Update: Mira (Miracle) has been in her foster home for one week now. She joins two fur siblings and three kitties (which she seems to care less about). It took Mira about three days for her tail to come out from between her legs. All the confusion of nearly a month in a shelter, and then a home, threw her. Mira was also spayed her first week in her foster home so that set her back a day or two. Mira is housebroken and has free access in the house. She is quiet until she sees or hears something out of the ordinary and then barks just enough to get my attention. She looks right at me after her bark as if to say "Did you hear/see that?" Mira sits on command, takes treats very gently and is good on a leash. She likes to walk right along side her foster siblings-they are quite an impressive trio on our walks! Mira sleeps in her crate at night with never a sound, and comes out so happily to start the new day. Adopted 07/26/09! Sex: Female DESCRIPTION: Delta is a pretty and lucky little girl. She was pulled in the nick of time out of a
rural pound where her fate was not looking so good! She is described as very friendly and she gets along with other dogs. Delta is looking for a change
in her lifestyle now. No more living hand (or paw) to mouth and scuffling around for food and a nice warm place to stay -- no sir! She wants a home with
a family and all that goes with it. She has been on her own long enough. Pretty Delta will reward her people with her undying devotion and loyalty. She
is now waiting for a foster home to hone those social skills -- she seems to be lacking a few manners here and there -- but she is a smart girl, after all
and it should not be that long before she has it all under control. :) Delta is waiting -- come and meet this pretty girl. Update: Delta loves the Meet and Greets particularly all the attention she gets from children and people. After a rough start she is settling nicely into her routine with two other MAGSR siblings. She is completely house broken now and does not need a crate. She has shed her thick coat and is getting some muscle in her hind quarters. She loves to go for walks and likes to play with her fosters more than her fur siblings. She still tends to startle with sudden movements but she is much calmer and takes to training well. She is learning the basics and definitely wants to please. She would make someone a loving companion and a loyal friend. Adopted 07/18/09! Sex: Male

Ruby, while not having perfect leash manners, was very content to walk beside me for a good part of the afternoon while I went upon my business. She settled quietly at my feet when I had to stop, and was a perfect little lady with all who she met. This little girl (she is not very big), will make a great family pet. She needs love, patience and training, but she is young and so ready to learn. Come and introduce yourself to Ms. Ruby. She is a gem! :) Update: Miss Ruby is back with us after only a short time in her new home because she just could not get along with the resident kitties. She loved on them a bit too much :) -- and they were not happy about it at all! She is a wonderful girl otherwise-- and does need training as all young things do. She needs crate training, leash training and manners when greeting people - (no jumping up); but otherwise is a cheerful, friendly and sweet young girl who is very anxious to get into a home for good. Ruby is smart and will learn quickly. All she needs is time and patience -- and love -- lots of love! She will return all the love to her people every day of her life! DESCRIPTION: Memphis would like you all to know that she is seriously looking for that perfect family, perfect home and is really quite tired of the homeless life! Memphis was picked up from the shelter - on her way to anywhere, really, and she could definitely use a stable home now. She told me that Memphis sounded like a nice place - even tho that is not where she ended up, but it is a nice name, so there you go! :) Memphis is a real party girl! She definitely likes the active lifestyle -- and she is going to have to learn her manners! None! A real diamond in the rough! :) But definitely a sweet one....she just was not ever shown the proper behavior. Memphis will need to learn how to walk properly on the leash, how not to jump up on people, and all the other stuff that goes with being a well behaved and responsible canine good citizen. She will need to attend training - and that is a given. No problem! She is after all a German Shepherd! Should be a piece of cake! :) She would love to be part of a family - do the whole family bit......walks, runs, skips, hikes, bonding by the fireplace, nice meals, some ball playing and lots of love - please. Are you the family for her? Come and meet this pretty, active, energetic young lady. She has so much potential - and she is waiting. Sex: Male Description: Phasor is one good looking dog! He is absolutely
beautiful!! Phasor is what you look for in a shepherd: - Beautiful carriage and typical German Shepherd intelligence, with the
potential to do anything that his people ask of him. He is a little apprehensive right now - a bit scared and barky - but warms up to
you in no time. After all he is in an entirely different environment now. Phasor knows some commands: Sit, Shake, Down and Stay. He
does focus well and will excel in training. He will, of course, need a commitment from his people to take him to and complete training -
absolutely! And a home that is familiar and experienced with the breed is a definite requirement. Phasor is with his fosters right now.
He is enjoying life, getting to know his fur-foster brother and sisters, and settling in to a routine. His fosters will update soon with
new pictures and more information on this stunning dog. UPDATE: Phasor was given up by his former family after they could no longer care for them when a family member became ill. So, recently this young boy has gone through a lot of changes in his life. Outside of those changes, Phasor is your typical big, young male. He's beautiful, energetic, curious, wanting to please his leader, curious about his world around him and he's very friendly. He's fairly outgoing and wants to meet new friends. However, because of his recent upheaval in his life, he's just a tad unsure of things when changes in his environment occur around him. Because of this, his leader will need to be confident and competent. This helps put him at ease knowing that his leader has everything under control. He is offleash with our GSDs in the house, is crate trained, knows commands such as sit, down, paw and has great eye contact. When overexcited, he will dribble just a bit but he's trying his best to be housebroken. Training is a requirement for adoption for many reasons. It helps to create a bond between the dog and their family but it also creates a hierachy so that the dog understands that the adopter is the pack leader and the dog is NOT the pack leader. The dog taking control of the family is one of the most predominant reasons for dogs to be given up in the first place. Because of his incredible itelligence, Phasor will be an excellent student at training and I can foresee him being a model citizen and excelling in advanced classes. UPDATE: What a difference a few days makes! Phasor has fit in very nicely with our pack. However, he is no longer timid in any way or showing any sign of being reluctant to check out new things. His overexcited dribbling is gone, too. He has proven himself to have incredible "ball drive" and he is all energy. He has also proven to be quite the strong swimmer as he likes to swim in our pool. Because of his interest in balls, this is being used to obedience train him. Many trainers use ball drive to ascertain a dog's ability to scent track and to be trained. Phasor is an excellent student and loves to work for a ball or a frisbee. But keep in mind that a dog with this much drive and energy will become very frustrated if they are not given the opportunity to release this energy and put their skills to use. When we find a dog that has this sort of skill or ability, it can and MUST be used in a positive manner to hone and train innate or inborn traits. The German Shepherd was bred to be a skilled working breed and some have sharper skills than others. Phasor is one such dog. As with all dogs, the more you put into them, the more you will get out of them. He will be a perfect example. His family MUST be dedicated to training and it will need to be ongoing. A poor fit for him would be a family that is looking for a couch potato. If you are looking for a couch potato, please consider another one of our many beautiful dogs. But if you are looking for a dog with high drive, intelligence and endless energy that you will dedicate and enjoy a LOT of time to train with, Phasor may be a good choice. Sex: Male Good With Kids: 10 and older DESCRIPTION: Achilles, formerly Grover, is being returned to us because of family circumstances, and they are unable to care for him any longer. He is now back with us and ready to move on and settle his paws again - this time forever. Achilles is a nice boy - He will require that his people take him to training - he does need a bit of a refresher course - and training will help to bond his new people to him. He is very anxious to please and is a very smart boy. Wouldn't surprise us if he took top honors in any obedience training :) Achilles was part of a family for many months and while he does love the family life, he is not happy with small, loud children, so a home with no or older children would be best for him. Achilles will chase cats and we recommend that he not share a home with them. :) However, he is housebroken and familiar with a household routine and is crate trained. He would love to be part of a family once again. He would love a foster home while he is waiting for his forever home....Ask to meet this very good looking young man -- he is a charmer! Update: Achilles came to his foster home on the 4th of July and has already made quite an impression! He is an energetic boy who looooooves orbee balls, kongs, and nylabones. He knows some basic obedience (sit, come, down, paw, out- as in "out of the kitchen"), learns quickly, and will take well to obedience training. He also walks well on a leash and is house trained. He will pull the first few minutes but calms down quickly and then walks nicely. He is a very long, lean, handsome boy who takes treats gently and is good with other dogs. He still has lots of puppy energy and enjoys long walks and belly rubs. He loves the movie Bolt and finds the squeaky toy scenes especially riveting.
Here are some other observations for Achilles just to keep in mind when evaluating adopters-
He is strong and energetic. When he's excited he jumps and paws at hands, legs, whatever he can reach. He also will mouth us a bit when excited. We've consistently corrected him and he's never clamped down in any way, but it's something to note. He barks when left in his crate and also barks when excited or when he wants to go outside or go back inside. He can open sliding screen doors with his nose and is very smart. He is very friendly with other dogs but also has a little bit of the "only dog" thing going on and doesn't seem to know proper doggy manners. When he's challenged he doesn't back down, which has led to a few shouting matches with our girl, but nothing more than noise and posturing. Overall he's a good boy and very intelligent. We're really enjoying his company. He'd probably be a best fit for someone without young children. He isn't food or toy agressive or possessive, but another dog who is could probably cause problems. He doesn't mark and generally relieves himself in the same spot on our yard, regardless of how many long walks we've been on, a couple of times a day. He seems to not pee unless he absolutely has to, which is nice if he's home alone, not nice if he won't pee before bed and wakes you up at 5am :-). He's only been with us a few days, so any and all of this could change. Update: Achilles has been with us about a week now. All signs of separation anxiety that we saw early on seem to have disappeared. He no longer cries or barks when crated. He has learned to sit before being allowed in or out of the door, and we're working on an extended "wait." We've also seen some improvement in his play behaviors, with notably less mouthing of our hands and feet, although it still occurs on occasion. He seems to take correction well and learn quickly now that he's settling in. Relations between him and our 6 year old female have gone from cooly congenial to warm and friendly. She bruised a toe running last night and he spent much of the night beside her looking very worried, although previously he has chosen only to sleep in his crate. He even gave her the ball he was playing with. This morning, while inspecting her paw with a flashlight, I discovered that he is fascinated by light beams and will chase them endlessly. This is an excellent way to exhaust some of this handsome young boy's 'puppy' energy and a highly entertaining spectator sport. Another important note - the man of the house left the trash cabinet open last night, and it remained completely untouched! He has also stayed out of the closet where we keep our dog food, despite proven ability to bypass sliding doors. This guy does not steal food, although he may take off with your heart :-). Sex: Male
DESCRIPTION: Mugsy has a wonderful personality! This great little guy and his sister and his equally mischievous and adorable brothers have just arrived! They are cute as can be, sweet, social, playful and wonderful little puppies -- as all puppies are. They have no manners, they have needle like sharp puppy teeth and they want nothing more than to play, eat, sleep, play, play, eat some more, sleep, etc.... :) Puppies are adorable and everyone wants a puppy. A puppy is a blank slate - what you put into this wiggly wonderful creature is what you will get. They need commitment and training, patience and love....and lots of it and for a time span of approximately 12 - 15 years.. If you are not willing to go all the way for this puppy - make a commitment of that many years, no matter what life throws your way - and what life changes you may encounter, please do not apply for a puppy. Please do think this adoption process through very, very thoroughly. We take the adoption of these little guys very seriously. We want only the best homes, only the best environment for our dogs and puppies. If Mugsy is the dog you are looking for, please contact us to set up an interview. All the pups are now in foster homes where they are leaning the finer points of living in a home. Their fosters will update soon with new pictures and updates. They are so anxiously waiting to meet you. Update: Mugsy is a great little puppy. He's been with us for 3 weeks and is already fitting right in to our pack. He hasn't had any accidents in his crate for a few weeks now and has very few peepee accidents in the house. It mostly happens while he's running to the back door to tell us he has to potty. He goes out around 11:00pm and then again around 6:30am and sleeps through the night in his crate. He is crate trained and understands where to go when we say "go crate". He does get a little treat when he does this so he knows his crate is his happy place. He can go for about 4-5 hours in his crate during the day but does need a potty break after that, but that's normal for puppies. We can't expect him to hold it longer than that yet. He has a great personality and loves to play. He's very easy going and is happy to go with the flow but will also initiate play when he wants to and he gets along great with our dogs. He would probably like to be the pup in charge but has happily accepted being the 4th dog in the pack. He's learning to walk on a leash without stopping to sniff every blade of grass and smell every rose. He has a healthy appetite and was 36 pds at his last vet visit. He's a fearless puppy as long as you don't put a vacuum cleaner in the room with him. He cautiously looks at it, comes close then barks and barks at it, then backs off, runs back and barks again and the whole time it's not even on, he just doesn't like the looks of it I guess. He loves kids and other dogs but as all puppies do he likes to jump so little kids have to be careful, but with training and maturity he'll learn that this is not acceptable. He's getting much better at knowing what's his to chew and what isn't. He responds well to corrections. Mugsy is an adorable little guy and is patiently waiting for his forever family to come get him. Adopted 07/10/09!! (8-12 years old) and thought they were the best. If you are looking for a young dog to grow up with your young'uns, Herbie is your new best friend. waiting for his forever, permanent home. UPDATE: Wolfgang has kennel cough and is still considered contagious. He is unable to meet
dogs until the week of 7/10. He has 5 families waiting to meet him. Most likely he will be adopted by one of them..........please ask
to meet at some of our other handsome and lovable boys! Adopted 7/8/09! Sex: Female
DESCRIPTION: Charm is being returned to her MAGSR family due to no fault of her own. Her mom has come up against hard times and must let Charm find a new home where she can get the attention, exercise, and care she deserves. Charm first came to us this past October, part of a litter of puppies known to us as the "Baltimore Puppies". They were rescued from an abandoned building in Baltimore, found alone huddled together underneath debris. They were saved by dedicated guardian angels who contacted MAGSR to take them into care. Here's what was said about the new puppies then: They are growing fast and are sweet, cuddly, and adorable! They love their toys and love attention (LOTS of it!).... Charm is a cutie, with a sweet personality and she would love to be your lifelong companion. UPDATE: Charm is one cuddle-bug love-muffin ... she is very affectionate, cuddly, energetic, and playful. Charm is the definition of adolescent PUPPY and is on the move, running, playing and being young! Charm has had some training and is a smart young girl. Like any active pup, she will need lots of guidance, socialization, training, and love as she grows up. Charm has loads of love to share, a great personality, and a lot of spunk (and check out those beautiful long legs)! UPDATE: Charm is a fun-loving affectionate sweetheart and she is ready for that perfect family that will commit to loving her forever and ever. Charm is doing excellent adjusting in her foster home and loves playing with all the kids and dogs. She's particularly fond of jumping in the kiddie pool and lounging about in the cool water on those hot summer days! The heat doesn't stop this girl though, and she's ready to go after her cool down! Charm enjoys playing fetch with the ball and frisbee, and loves romping with her many pals at the dog park. She sleeps contently in the crate thru the night and takes naps on your lap or in her bed between playtimes and training sessions. She is doing well learning to walk on the leash and is practicing good manners and the skills she learned in obedience class. But number one on Charm's list is love. If you are looking for someone to love you and be your best friend, meet Charm! She is very affectionate, and wants to please. Sometimes puppy-bouncy and, like all pups, in need of regular exercise and consistent training, Charm is ready to love you forever! Please remember that puppies and adolescents are just rambunctious kids who need training, a huge dose of fun, and loads of patience and LOVE! Don't underestimate the time, patience, and consistency needed to raise a happy well-behaved puppy! CHARM'S UPDATE: Hi, Charm here! Rambunctious - oh yeah! - that's what young pups are! I'm a happy girl! I love my toys and I love to chase the ball. And I really love it when you throw my toys in the pool cause then I get to jump in and find them all to bring back to you! And when we go to the dog park and all my friends are jumping in the pool with me I just have a grand time! And gosh, I think racing thru the yard and rolling in the dirt with my friends is just the best pup fun! My foster mom shakes her head and laughs, and tells us to get in the pool again cause we're dirty, but that's allright with me, as long as I've got my toys! So, Got Pup?
